± (2.5/100) μm (500 to 700 μm)
Operation
To measure the hardness of a material, the hardness tester penetrates it, leaving an imprint (called a witness) on the tested spot. The indenter is pushed with a known force against the material being tested, depending on the hardness of the material. By measuring the size of the indentation, in relation to the strength and shape of the indenter, the hardness of the material is indicated.
Types
With conical, pyramidal or hemispherical indenter
Applicable forces
1 to 50 Newtons
Operation
It allows you to observe the details through direct observation, or indirect through photography and/or electronic systems.
Electronic camera
Connected to a PC, it allows you to take photographs and view what the lens frames on the screen.
Objectives
Resolution between 50 and 500 x
Utilization
In order to carry out the laboratory analysis of the welded joints, the specimens are embedded in a special two-component epoxy resin that is solidified in a cylinder. This cylinder is sanded more and more thoroughly, first by means of abrasive discs of ever finer grit, then by means of discs soaked in diamond paste until it reaches a grit of 1μ.
Types of grit
200 to 1200
