May ended with an important milestone for IMPEA: the achievement of EN 1090 certification, reached in less than two months through a compliance process involving procedures, controls, documentation and technical expertise across all levels of the company.
This achievement confirms IMPEA’s commitment to increasingly high standards of quality, traceability and manufacturing reliability.
What is EN 1090 certification?
EN 1090 is the mandatory European standard for the manufacture of structural steel and aluminium components. The certification ensures compliance throughout the entire production chain, introducing stringent requirements for control and traceability covering raw materials, suppliers, manufacturing processes, outsourced operations and welding management.
Since 2014, it has represented not only a key technical benchmark but also a legal requirement for companies operating in the structural steelwork sector.
A company-wide commitment
To obtain certification, specific tests were carried out on our production processes and a structured management and control system was implemented in accordance with the standard’s requirements.
The compliance process involved multiple areas of the organisation, from procurement management and equipment selection to operator qualifications and the coordination of welding activities.
This project enabled us to complete and strengthen our compliance framework across the entire production chain.

Beyond its regulatory significance, EN 1090 certification represents an important added value from both an industrial and commercial perspective.

Pietro Mainardi appointed Welding Coordinator
As part of the certification process, our Quality Control Director, Pietro Mainardi, obtained the qualification of Welding Coordinator through dedicated specialist technical training.
